Our U14 camogie team played in their shield final today out in Abbotstown. The conditions were poor and the girls were playing on an all weather pitch for the first time this year. It was a tight, scrappy game brought to life by a moment of magic by Isabel who scored a goal Henry Shefflin would’ve been proud of. The O’Dwyers girls went in to halftime a goal to the good 2-0 to 1-0 in game where scores would be a premium.
The first 20 minutes of the 2nd half the girls in green turned it up a notch and took what would prove to be a winning lead pushing their lead out to 8 points. Garda Westmanstown to their credit never gave up and pulled a goal back in the last few minutes and made it a real test. After a few nervy goalline clearances where bodies were put on the line the ref eventually blew for FT and a well deserved win for O’Dwyers. We are all so proud of you !!! 💚💚💚💚
