WHAT A YEAR for the girls under 15s teamπππππͺπΌπͺπΌπͺπΌπͺπΌπππβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
O'Dwyers u15s girls played their last game of the season on Saturday 19th October away to St Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh in the D4 Cup final, which brings our season to an end. We will continue to train for the coming weeks before taking a short break in December.
The team and management would like to thank the Club, the u14s team & management and all the O'Dwyers faithful for all your help and support this year.
This year our goal was to simply go out and play our best in each week, to improve our skills, to keep the girls playing and to be more competitive in our games and we definitely achieved this.
In football they played 12 games over league and championship winning 10, with narrow defeats in the other two games. This was a huge improvement on last year. The girls continued to go from strength to strength as the year progressed and we are extremely proud of them all.
We had over 60 events and training sessions throughout the year. The girls had Football and Camogie Feiles in April, various trips to Croke park, they represented the Club at the CamΓ‘n to the Finals U16 Blitz in August playing teams from Monaghan, Derry, Kilkenny and other Dublin clubs, followed by a trip to Croke park to see the Camogie All Ireland Championship finals.
In August the girls also went on a team building overnight camping trip to Russborough House as well as a number of trips to support other OβDwyers teams in their games. Itβs been a busy year!
We would like to wish the Senior Adult Ladies and the junior menβsβ football team all the best of luck in their upcoming Semi Finals, and of course weβre rooting for our hurlers on Sunday! π
The future of Ladies Adult Football in O'Dwyers is very very bright indeed.
