We need to continue to

  • Sanitise & adhere to social distancing
  • Ensure COVID forms are complete via ClubZap and attendance tracked
  • Parking at the club grounds is ONLY permitted for club coaches to collect or drop gear – Parking is reduced to allow access & prevent teams congregating unsafely in front of the club.

Youth Teams Update

  • U14 boys (Born 2007):

Our U14s footballers took to the field for their first league game this afternoon and put in a great performance to defeat Naomh Fionnbarra.

We started well and put some big scores on the board early on to set ourselves up. We struggled a bit in the 2nd quarter as Finbarrs came back at us but we went at half time well in control.

A big performance straight after halftime left us in control of the match, and despite some tired bodies and minds in the last quarter we finished out winning 5-5 to 0-9.

Mentions today go to Cathal, who was steady in nets and kept a clean well and we’re helped by Matthew and Julian who  kept the scoreboard ticking over at vital periods in the match.

Sean L was our captain today and he let no one down with his tackling out of possession and energy with the ball going forward.

It was a very tough call today as everyone of our players put a shift in but between John and Leon they can be happy with their performances and their POTM awards.

A couple of things really helped our team today like our passing and our support play, something we have worked a lot on in training, and also our composure in front of goal, and it was brilliant to see the lads put this into action.

Last word goes to Tadgh, Dillon, Eoin and Cuan who have put their extra training into practice and gave us a big boost when they were on the field with us today.

Lots to work on as usual but lots of positives going forward nonetheless. A good day.

              Thanks Mentors ?

  • U16 Boys (Born 2005/6):

On a wet and humid Thursday evening our U16 hurlers got our division  6a league campaign under way when we welcomed Cuala to Bells pitch in Balbriggan. A fantastic game of hurling was played out and enjoyed by parents and passers by alike. They were treated to a free flowing high scoring game of hurling with O’Dwyers coming out on top with a hard fought and well deserved victory on a scoreline of O’Dwyers 7-11 Cuala 6-04

U16 Football
Unfortunately Raheny had to concede our Div9 football match on Saturday 26th. We included all players in the panel to play against St James Gaels. In an energetic game O’Dwyers found themselves 2 points down at half time. At the water break in the 2nd half we were 4 points down. Some player-specific instructions, a change to our formation and renewed competitiveness from the O’Dwyers players saw us up by 3 points with only seconds left in the game. With nothing left on the referee’s watch St James Gaels won a free in front of our goal. The lads stood on the line and the free was struck low, our keeper, Jamie Murray dived low and to his right and palmed the ball around the post. The referee blew the final whistle. Final score; O’Dwyers 3-13 St James Gaels 4-7.

  • U18 Boys (Born 2004/5): It was the start to competitive hurling games this morning for our Minor Hurlers as they played in their first league game  away against Na Fianna with  a number of players injured & unavailable we travelled light on players. However the lads did well and competed very strongly in 2nd and last Quarters we shifted a couple of fortuitous goals which ended up giving Na Fianna the win. There will be plenty more games for the hurlers to get touch back as we continue to build towards Championship

Next up for the lads this week is Wed Football at home vs St Peters and Sun away vs Craobh Chiarain
