Friday night 10th September saw the first Garda Youth Awards take place in the DMR District. These awards were set up to recognise the contribution of young people in their communities.

O’Dwyers GAA Club in Balbriggan have a long standing tradition of youth volunteers who give back to the club in many ways.

They had winners in two categories in the awards:

The ÓgDwyers coaches collectively collected second place in the Group award category. This group of young coaches are leading the way coaching our youngest members every Saturday morning.

Adam Heron collected an award in the Individual award category. Adam is a true leader having completed the Dermot Earley Youth leadership course last year and graduating from University College Galway.

The Club are immensely proud of these young people most of whom are with the club since they themselves were in nursery aged 4.
