Finally for O’Dwyers Intermediate footballers they got their well deserved win. They played slick, fast paced, free flowing football for the majority of the game leaving Garristown in their wake.
First half seen O’Dwyers play up the hill with the wind. Winning the ball in midfield from the throw up lead to the first of many attacks. The score line could have included a goal only for the white paint of the upright. Liam Prout dropped a 45 into the box which was redirected by the fists of Seán Garvan onto the post, leaving the Garristown goalkeeper and defender flat footed. The goalkeeper could not believe his luck when the ball landed in his hands. Half Time Score: O’Dwyers 0-09 Garristown 0-05
Second half didn’t start as it ended for O’Dwyers. Garristown got their purple patch knocking four points over without reply bringing the game back level. The fourth of these points seemed to give O’Dwyers the kick that they needed and they stepped up a gear. O’Dwyers knocked over the next six points, started by a sublime free kick from Liam Prout and added to by superb shooting by Michael Brady.
Next up for O’Dwyers Intermediate footballers is Kilmacud Crokes in AFL4 on Saturday 13th April at 18:00 in Bremore Park. Come along and cheer them on.
