Steady Progress
We have made steady progress in phase 4 so far with the focus groups working through the different areas of the plan. We have had over 15 group meetings to date with everyone really engaging in the process. We thank each of you for your time and efforts to date.

Focus Groups: Doing great work
The following are some of the key initiatives being discussed/proposed across the seven focus areas:

1. Games Development & Coaching Strand
O’Dwyers GAA are in the business of sport, so this group is central to the development of the club over the next 5 years and beyond. Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- Oversight & Management
- Appointing a Club Coaching Officer
- Establishing a Games Development and Coaching Committee
- Coaching Personnel
- Appointing Development Officers
- Assessing the feasibility of a full time GPO
- Appointing an Equipment Coordinator
- Appointing two School Liaison Officers – augment the links with local schools and education institutes
- Coaching Education
- Collating a coaching manual that can be used by all coaches
- Player Development
- Defining and documenting a clear Player Pathway
2. Finance and Funding Strand
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- Oversight & Management
- Establishing a Finance and Funding Committee
- Financial Planning
- Establishing a 5 year budget and associated annual budgets
- Partnership
- Establishing a business sponsorship / partnership team
- Financial Aid
- Establishing a grant application team
3. Facilities & Equipment Strand
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- New Facilities Planning
- Providing the Clubs requirements to the existing Facilities Development Group
- Current Facilities Improvement
- Collating, costing and prioritising improvements to existing facilities
4. Communication, Marketing and PR Strand
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- Oversight & Management
- Communication Group: To oversee club communication and PR
- Branding
- Survey community on clubs brand recognition
- Non-Traditional Communication Method & Tools
- Developing a new website
- Streamlining the clubs Facebook sites and pages
- Traditional Communication Method & Tools
- Establishing a meet & great for new parents
- Improving club signage (Club grounds, in Balbriggan)
- Improving availability and content on Club notice boards (Club grounds, in Balbriggan)
5. Social & Events Strand
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- Oversight & Management
- Social committee: To oversee all social events and initiatives in the club
- Events
- Establishing a Calendar of events
- Providing an end of summer camp BBQ / family day
- Fundraising
- Conducting a lotto sales promotion review
6. Club Administration & Structure Strand
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by the group that will form part of the plan include:
- Reviewing the Club structureProviding an online central document storage facility
- Executive layer – governance / strategic overview
- Planning and management layer – tactical / change and project planning
- Operational layer – cross functional, getting stuff done
- Collating an Club Operational Manual that includes:
- Officer roles and responsibilities
- Committee roles and responsibilities
- Club Policy consolidation
7. Membership Review
Some of the key initiatives and projects being discussed by this group that will form part of the plan include:
- Making better use of the GAA Management System
- Moving more membership payment online
- Developing a members skills directory
- Reviewing membership /subscription options/costs for specific categories

Next Steps
- Continue with the Focus Group meetings
- Collate all the ideas, action and recommendation into the Club Development Plan document
- Initiate the launch day event planning
